Here we are into another year. January gone already. This is the year that I start my retirement plan. From now on I will not be doing any dog training on Mondays. It is my day to do home things on my tiny farm and try to catch up on all the things that have been neglected for the last ten years while I worked to help Dog... Read Good Dog Training Newsletter - February 2016
Good Dog Training Newsletter - September 2015urn:md5:18bf883b9ec432c35cc217583b9e4c0d2015-09-11T18:36:00+01:002015-09-11T07:38:37+01:00Raewyn SavilleNewslettersagilityBorder Colliedog behaviourdog handlingdog trainingpersonal journey
TRAINING FOR AGILITY WHAT DOES IT TAKE TO GET RESULTS
Every now and again someone comes through the Dog Training ranks who turns out to be extraordinary. The team of Sue Thomas and Girl are pretty extraordinary. I like to write about some of our wonderful Agiliteers because I think they are inspirational. The newsletter editorial for this month is a piece I did to read at the AGM. The AGM was enormously successful and celebrated the success of Dog Sports Rotorua with a presentation of certificates and trophies.

As an instructor for Dog Sports Rotorua my job reaches way beyond teaching people how to handle their dog for best outcomes or teaching the dog which is the right side to walk quietly on a loose lead, or indeed teaching a dog how to safely jump a hurdle or run over an A frame. A long time ago I joined a Dog Club and started doing Agility and Obedience and Flygility, in fact I would have done any sport that involved dogs having already done a bit of duck and pheasant shooting and some field trial work.
I quite enjoyed the Sport of Agility but I didn't find the Agility Community at that time... Read Good Dog Training Newsletter - April 2015
Good Dog Training Newsletter - October 2014urn:md5:1f0786ef7c4432097948fdea4fc9281d2014-10-05T17:34:00+01:002014-10-05T04:54:34+01:00Raewyn SavilleNewslettersagilitydog behaviourdog handlingdog trainingweaves
Dog Sports Ten Point Plan to learn Agility
Over the last ten years many people have said to me that they wanted to train their dogs to do Agility. Over this period I have only managed 4 people who have gone all the way with it and trained their dogs to be able to achieve national competition standards. Although to be fair I have some current... Read Good Dog Training Newsletter - October 2014
Good Dog Training Newsletter - September 2014urn:md5:73f7dbc024d60934ca4fa75318faba9c2014-08-30T18:52:00+01:002014-08-30T07:39:58+01:00Raewyn SavilleNewsletterscommunity bylawsdog handlingdog sportsDog Training Programflea controlgames
NEW CLASS CALLED SEARCH
Things at Dog Sports morph constantly as it becomes obvious that we need to give people and their dogs jobs to do to assist with training. All the obedience lessons in the world will not keep people sucked up to dog training in the same way as learning Agility or Flygility.
However, it goes without saying that these... Read Good Dog Training Newsletter - September 2014
Good Dog Training Newsletter -August 2014urn:md5:470d0137d31c0448bc595dc6cbaee1762014-08-10T18:15:00+01:002014-08-10T06:39:15+01:00Raewyn SavilleNewslettersdog behaviourdog handlingpersonal journeysick dog
SIMPLY DOG MANAGEMENT
